Story:
During a test flight NASA astronaut John Crichton accidentaly creates a wormhole and is transfported
to another Universe. He is captured by three escaped prisoners (Pa'u Zothoh Zhaan, Ka D'Argo,
and Dominar Rygel XVI) who are stealing their prision transport, a living ship called Moya.
They are being pursuded by a crazed miltary commander Bialar Crais and his Peacekeeper forces.
One of his pilots Aeryn Sun ends up on board Moya and is branded a traiter. This small band must
now go on the run.
Crichton is desperate to get home and he feels the answers lies in his hidden knowledge of wormhole technology.
However another crazed Peacekeeper commander Scorpius also whats this knowledge.
The odds are stacked against him, but with the help of the ever changing crew of the Moya
maybe one day he will reach Earth.
Highlights:
- The first season had a lot of good comedy, thanks mainly to Crichton's comtemporary quips.
- The special effects are stunning, as good as any feature film.
- Even the muppet based characters weren't that bad.
- The original crew were a great mix. With some powerful acting talent to bring them to life.
- First Crais then Scorpius were great bad guys.
- he orginal theme tune was very good.
- The second season had some great action episodes.
- The writing is usually inventive and has investigated some interesteing sci-fi concepts
this has lead to a number of top episodes.
Bad Points:
- The third and fourth seasons were progressivly poor. With numerious silly cliffhangers,
cast disappearing and reappearing, and too much happening in Crichton's mind.
- Big changes in cast line up have not been for the better.
- The crew becomes split up and spread about all over the place losing character interaction.
- A lot of the early comedy was lost.
- For some unknown reason the theme music was changed to one not half as good.
- Basically the story srch has become massively derailed and runing by poor writing.
